BIO
Alethea Shirilan-Howlett

When Alethea was five years old her free-spirited kindergarten teacher allowed her to put on one-woman stage play adaptations of her favorite visual texts (which were mostly gruesome Doctor Who episodes and the occasional, maybe more gruesome take on House Hunters). These were so highly revered among her peers that all of them avoided playing with her at recess. Now in her early twenties, Alethea is a London-based, internationally produced and recognized playwright, educator, and artist. Her favorite things are walking on the banks of the River Thames at low tide, cutting up old magazines, listening to Sufjan Stevens’s discography, words, and (still) pretending.
